Plastid signalling
Signals originating from plastids play important roles during development and in adult plants to regulate cellular homeostasis. A number of tentative signals have been identified during the last years but only for few of them the molecular details are beginning to emerge. While signals associated with plastid gene expression have been thought to be restricted to developmental plastid signalling we have shown that this type of signalling does also occur in adult plants and becomes integrated with signals originating from mitochondria.
